The best conference I have ever attended is Semi Permanent (and I have been to a few), organised by the industrious and innovative design firm The Church. I've attended two of these events and have not been disappointed for one moment. Inspiring and interesting barely does them justice. A half of the kick comes from speakers on the stage and the other half comes from the Aotea centre filled to the gunnals will the more creative people than you encounter at one time anywhere else in New Zealand.

Last year the highlights for me were Storm Thorgerson - legendary graphic designer of some of the most influencial album covers of the last forty years. He staged a shoot involving the entire audience.
